I LOVE COLOR... Color makes the world worth seeing -- and drawing and painting. I love the sensuality of painting, the richness of hue, the velvety texture, the way color and light play together. I paint what captures my attention. It's the small, simple mysteries of the world that make me stop and look more closely. I draw the mysteries I study. My most recent paintings, the For the Birds series, began with a morning walk, enjoying the sounds of chickadees that were singing against the winter’s cold. As I watched these beautiful creatures, I saw the abstract simplicity of their forms and colors.
